You would be pleasantly surprised about the
quality of incredible people attending our
Rallies to 'Free the Pendleton 8.' Click on
"Calendar" for location and schedule.

Most of us have never before participated in
these type of events. People from all walks
of life, ages, men and women, children, dog
and cats, faith and beliefs, swing by to make
a difference. We have had people fly all the
way from New York to participate at our
Rallies.

We really need your support. Our group is
composed entirely of volunteers. We cover
our own costs. Stand UP for what you
believe in! We believe in God, family and
country. One thing that brings us together,
and that we can all agree about, is knowing
that the men in the brig must be set free.

Remember to focus on the Pendleton 8.
They are in serious trouble. We should not
draw the attention of the media upon
ourselves. It is not about us. Stay focused!

We have received many inquiries to
establish a Military Defense Fund. We will
proceed slowly to ensure strict compliance.

“I have no doubt — the war came to our shores.
Remember that,” he said, referring to the Sept. 11,
2001, terrorist strikes on New York and Washington.
“We had a foreign policy that basically said, ‘Let’s hope
calm works.’ And we were attacked.”

HMC USN RET John Sullivan, volunteer
Enlisted sailor, number one graduate of
1500 from his boot camp class. As a Navy
Corpsman, he spent three years running,
sweating and bleeding alongside Soldiers,
Marines, and Sailors in Vietnam.

He spent six months volunteer duty in
Vietnam with Navy SEAL Team One to which
he became an honorary member, recipient
of the Silver Star and Purple Heart, warrior
and saver of lives, and known for wearing
“those hats” that demonstrated his pride for
the things he cared about: his community,
his country and his family.

John Sullivan will be remembered maybe
not by the jobs that he held but by the type of
person he was. He was courageous,
honorable, a genius, the epitome of family
values, a great person to lean on, faithful,
loving…straight forward and not at all
politically correct. He touched so many
lives…both in his family and outside of it. If
you knocked at our door, he would have
taken you in and helped you reach your
goals.

The following story and commemoration to
his service is of the many reasons why he
will be put to rest at Rosecrans National
Cemetery on Friday October 13th, with full
military honors. John Sullivan drew nearly
three years combat pay serving in Vietnam
from 1966-1969. Particularly, on November
1st, 1968, while attached with the Riverine
Force and the Brown Water Navy, aboard
the LST WESTCHESTER COUNTY, he
would prove the undaunted and unwavering
man everyone knew him to be. At
approximately 3:22 in the morning, enemy
swimmers mined the USS WESTCHESTER
COUNTY in the My-Toe River. The blast
ripped through numerous compartments
including John Sullivan's. Initially
unconscious, severely injured and the lone
survivor in the First-Class Petty Officer
quarters, John Sullivan, regaining
consciousness and patched up his own
wounds with a bed-sheet. He quickly set out
to do his duty as ship’s Corpsman and save
the lives of his shipmates.

Refusing the Commanding Officer’s orders
to be sent to a nearby hospital ship to
receive medical care, he displayed
unrelenting courage and determination for
over 10 hours, leading the life-saving efforts,
providing medical assistance to shipmates,
Army personnel, and specifically two injured
and trapped sailors in smoke-filled
compartments. Only when he knew for
certain that he could do no more, he allow
himself to be MEDEVACED and treated
correctly.

His selfless actions that day earned him the
Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was a man
who despite his rank and status in life lived
by the words “Lead, follow, or get the hell
out of my way.” As far as we are concerned,
he probably never heard the “Lead” part of
that phrase…which in the end would have
read, “Follow and get the hell out of my way,
and if you want to lead you had better have a
better plan.”

To those of us close to him knew that they
rarely had that better plan than John Sullivan
did. John Sullivan was a leader of men, who
was steadfast and selfless in his devotion
and dedication to his family, morals and
well-being of comrades-in-arms regardless
of their branch of service.
Doc Sullivan participated at our Rallies
every Saturday. He never missed
attendance. He was always cheerful and
passionate about life! He will be missed by
his Family and by all of us. He is truly an
American Hero and he lives within each of
us.
Now is it most like as if on ocean
Across cold water we sail in our keels,
Over the wide sea in our ocean-steeds,
Faring on in our flood-wood. Fearful the stream, The
tumult of waters, whereon we toss
In this feeble world. Fierce are the surges
On the ocean-lanes. Hard was our life
Before we made harbor over the foaming seas.
Then help was vouchsafed when God's Spirit-Son
Guided us to the harbor of salvation and granted us grace.
That we may understand over the side's side
Where to moor our sea-steeds, our ocean stallions,
Fast at anchor. Let us fix our hope
Upon that haven which the Lord of heaven,
In holidness on high, has opened by His Ascension.

“Never in the history of the world has any soldier
sacrificed more for the freedom and liberty of total
strangers than the American soldier. And, our soldiers
don't just give freedom abroad, they preserve it for us
here at home.”
